In our research for our new spice blends (Japanese Curry and Oaxacan Mole coming this spring/summer!), we came across this article in CNN about curries around the world.
If you define curry as “a spiced meat, fish or vegetable stew, either freshly prepared as a powder or spice paste or purchased as a ready-made mixture,” as Collen Sen does in her book, The History of Curry, it makes sense that pretty much every country around the world—from Morocco to Mexico to Malaysia—has their own version, even if that’s not what they call it.
Happy eating!
