If you are a fan of the Bollywood Popcorn at Trader Joe’s, you’ll be happy to hear that it’s super easy (and we think even more delicious) to make your own.

To make this dead simple, use Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Mix (the powder pack). If you’re feeling ambitious, try making your own.

Tikka Spiced Popcorn

Ingredients

1/4 C Ranch Dressing Mix (2 packs Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing)
2 TBSP Masi Masa Tikka Masala Spice Blend
1 TBSP powdered buttermilk (optional)
2 tsp granulated sugar (optional)
Popcorn kernels (we like Ryder’s Red from Boulder Popcorn)
Coconut oil or ghee
2 TBSP melted butter (optional)

Directions

Make a Batch of Popcorn (stovetop)

Mix together ranch dressing mix, Masi Masa Tikka Masala Spice Blend, powdered buttermilk and sugar (if using) in a bowl and set aside this Tikka Spice Topping for later.
Add 1/3 C popcorn kernels, cover.
Once you hear kernels starting to pop, hold lid in place with one hand and shake side-to-side pan on burner (to avoid burning).
When popping gets intermittent, remove pan from heat and immediately dump popcorn into a large bowl.
Drizzle popcorn with melted butter (optional) and shake on Tikka Spice Topping, tossing to mix.
Enjoy with a good movie!
